Tuesday

March 17  Tuesday

Many of our days seem not to be very busy or interesting when it is time to record the happenings here.  But, somehow we seem to never have enough time to accomplish all that we think we need to do.  Time is going so fast now - and I thought five months seemed like a really long time. . . it is not!

Outside our bedroom window - I
always feel sorry for the horses as
the collect recyclables out of
the trash bins.
David and Ann started off the day by going to Gramado on errands (drop off and pick up dry cleaning, picking up toner cartridge, ordering vinyl lettering for Relief Society plaques, etc.).

Favorite type of bunny - in a
shop window
Merl and I just took care of odds and ends in the morning and then walked to the Copy Center - only to find it closed.  I have a difficult time remembering that many places close for two hours around the middle of the day.  Not wanting to go back home and then returning, we walked to Wizard to borrow some language books from Camila.  She gave us permission to copy them so we can continue our studies when we go home in a month.  She and Alice were eating lunch, and Tiago was sleeping.  Pres. Anderson took their family car to Porto Alegre with the missionaries - appears that it is customary for the missionaries to go to the temple just before they return home.  Elder Cooper is leaving next week - he and Elder Oliveira went with Pres. Anderson.  This left Camila home without a car to take her children to school (Lavinia in the morning, Alice in the afternoon).  Normally we would have our Portuguese lesson this afternoon, but with the children situation, it was cancelled.

We offered to stay with Tiago so she wouldn't have to wake him up and push the stroller up the hill to the school.  We watched "Beauty and The Beast" in Portuguese and shared popcorn and chicken nuggets with him when he woke up.  Camilla was gone for over an hour - Alice was crying at the school because she wanted to go home with her.

Sidewalk sweeper at bus station in
Gramado - typical tight, tight
leggings
We left with our lesson books and walked to the papelaria store for copy paper - then back to the Copy Center to have some music books bound.  While we were waiting, we went to a new sorvete store for big waffle cones filled with marango/abacaxi (strawberry/pineapple) sorvete.  It is now our favorite!

Shortly after we arrived home, David and Ann came - just in time for Ann to go to the church for piano lessons.  About 6:30 p.m., the rest of us when to the church for meetings and piano lessons.

Street sweeper along the highway
Yes, just another Tuesday - similar every week. . . only six more.  I think I need to enjoy the routine more and not waste any time.
